*Knock knock knock*

Amber eyes cracked upon and squinted in the darkness as a repetitive tapping noise came from the door.  The girl in the bed sat up and yawned, stretching. Tabitha the cheetahess frowned a little and looked at the heavy metal door. “Go away” she growled, not wanting to bother with what was most likely Calico having a midnight ramble. The knocking continued, making her more and more annoyed. “I said go AWAY” she snarled, trying to ignore it.  “P-please…” came a meek, quiet voice from the other side of the door. Was that Brooklyn? Tabitha groaned and got out of bed, clad only in her tanktop and panties as her clawed feet clicked against the metal flooring of her room. “What do you want you little brat?” she grunted as she unlocked the door, the diminutive hedgehog girl that was Brooklyn greeted her, wearing only her underwear and looking up at Tabitha with wide, watery eyes. “P-please…” she repeated. “What?” the cat asked, glaring at her. “Oi had a ni-nightmare…a b-bad one…” she whimpered, shaking. “Well too bad, what do I look like? Your mother? Pff.” She went to shut the door when Brooklyn’s whimpering started to crack and turn into cries, looking up at the cheetah with pleading eyes. Crap she felt bad now.

“…Fine, come in.” she moaned, moving aside for Brooklyn to stumble in, sniffling. “Th-thanks Tabby…” she mumbled. “Oi, its Tabitha ya little muppet.” She groaned, scratching her side with her bionic arm. Brooklyn sat on Tabitha’s bed and sighed, looking fairly shellshocked from the dream. “So what was it then? Hm? Where you being chased by an angry fish?” Tabitha smirked “N-no…O-Oi…” She trailed off. “Spit it out ‘hog, then go back to your room, I don’t share.” Tabitha glared. “…I dreamt everyone abandoned me, and left me at home, and I was taken away by people who said I was a monster…” Brooklyn whispered weakly. Oh. That was…she couldn’t make fun of that. Not even Tabitha. “I…I see…” she muttered. She gently put her real paw on Brook’s shoulder and gave the faintest ghost of a smile. “Look…I usually don’t do this but,” she pulled the hedgehog into a tight hug, embracing her gently and rubbing down her back reassuringly. Brooklyn flinched but slowly relaxed as the cat petted her. “I know I can be a total bi-…nasty, but, and don’t you dare say this to the others or I’m throwing you overboard, but…I do like you, you’re my…friend.” Brooklyn blinked and looked up at her slightly “O-Oi am?” “Yeah, ya don’t hate me so I guess you count. “W-wow….a-augh” she cringed and her stomach made a loud, unpleasant gurgling noise. “Me tummy ‘hurts…” she whined, looks like the stress was getting to her. Tabitha slowly leaned the hedgehog back onto the bed properly and rubbed her stomach a little, surprised at how soft and doughy the chunky little hedgehog was. “Mmm…thanks Tabby…” she purred, feeling a little better. “No problem…look you can stay here for the night but I swear if you tell anyone.” “Oi won’t…promise.” “Good, now come here porkball.

Tabitha curled her way into the bed around her friend and pulled her close into a protective hug, arms sinking into Brooklyn’s pudge slightly. “If ya have another nightmare just imagine me in it, I’ll kick their arses.” She joked. Brooklyn nodded and slowly fell asleep, a small smile on her face as she felt safe with her unlikely friend.
A very small, quick oneshot from the Brooklynverse. I wasn't feeling too good today so I did this to cheer myself up eheh.

Hope everyone at least finds it cute.
